The Asia-Middle East Energy Security Summit (previously known as the Asia Energy Security Summit or AESS) is a track II diplomacy initiative that aims to bring policymakers and thought-leaders from across the Middle East and Asia to discuss and debate issues and challenges in the context of energy security, security of energy infrastructures and geopolitics of energy, and their impact in the region. The 8th edition of the summit will take place in Belgundi, district Belgaum, Karnataka, India from 14th – 16th February 2018.
This initiative, organized by the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), one of Asia’s leading independent think tanks, provides a neutral platform for intensive cerebral interaction amongst thought leaders to debate and discuss global trends and geopolitical shifts on the world stage, the key takeaways on the future strategies that will impact the developed and the developing world, examination of issues critical to striking a balance between fossil fuel dependent energy intensive development and the environment, in the face of the alarming climate change that the world is experiencing.
